The death toll from a shooting at a bar in South Africa has risen to 18 after another victim died in hospital, police said Monday.
The attack happened late Saturday in Wedela, about 80 kilometres from central Johannesburg, when eight gunmen armed with assault rifles stormed the bar.
Police said 13 men and four women were initially killed. The latest death brought the toll to 18.
Only four of the victims had been identified, including two South Africans and two nationals of Lesotho.
Police have not established a motive, although the area is reportedly affected by rivalry among gangs involved in illegal gold mining.
The incident was followed by another mass shooting outside Cape Town on Sunday, where 10 people were killed and 11 wounded at an entertainment venue.
