The Peoples Democratic Party has scheduled a fresh governorship primary in Gombe State for Tuesday, September 29, 2026, following the nullification of its earlier exercise by the Federal High Court in Gombe.
The court, on September 24, nullified the primary conducted by the party on May 26, 2026.
In a statement signed by the party’s official, Abdulkadir Ahmed Dukku, the PDP directed eligible delegates to assemble at their respective ward areas for the fresh exercise and vote for their preferred aspirants.
The party also appealed to members, supporters and well-wishers to support the conduct of the primary and urged participants to maintain peace and order throughout the exercise.
The PDP said participants should comply with arrangements put in place for the successful conduct of the election.
The fresh exercise is expected to determine the party’s candidate for the 2027 Gombe State governorship election.
