DGR Wiki is a Nigeria-based collaborative online encyclopedia where contributors can create, edit and expand articles covering different subjects.
The platform describes itself as a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. Its English-language edition contains articles covering areas including history, geography, politics, science, culture, technology, sports and biographies.
Established in Nigeria in 2024, DGR Wiki operates on MediaWiki, the open-source software used for creating and managing wiki websites. The platform’s stated editorial approach is based on information from reliable published sources and collaborative editing.
Unlike a conventional publication with a fixed editorial staff, DGR Wiki allows contributors to participate in developing and revising encyclopedia entries. Its website also provides spaces for editorial discussions, technical questions and research assistance.
The encyclopedia includes entries on countries, organisations, musicians, companies, historical subjects and other topics.
DGR Wiki is operated by DGR Entertainment & Multimedia Ltd., with Lil Trenchy identified as the founder of the company. The encyclopedia states that it is independent and is not affiliated with the Wikimedia Foundation.
Its content is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 licence, according to the platform’s licensing information.
English is the primary language edition, while the main page also lists additional language editions, including Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, French, Arabic and Portuguese.
As a wiki-based platform, articles can be revised as contributors add information or make corrections. Article histories and discussion functions are available through the MediaWiki system.
DGR Wiki therefore operates as a collaborative reference platform rather than a conventional news publication, with its content developed and maintained through contributions and editorial changes made on the website.
